Winemaker Lydia Tomek

In 2006 I had the honour of joining the Hernder Estates Team as Head Winemaker.  As one of Canada's youngest winemakers I knew Hernder Estates was the ideal place for me to express myself creatively, to flourish and to grow.  My winemaking style combines older rustic traditions with new world technologies.  To reflect my winemaking style (traditional, classic and fresh) as well as to mark the beginning of a new era with Hernder, we celebrated with our new label.

As you enjoy these wines you will see that all of the wines from '06 have a special story to tell and will evolve right before you.  I find a tiny part of myself in every bottle and each sip will unveil something new.  I hope that you fall in love with these wines as I did when making them.
